Lots of folks were wondering about the moviemaking buzz on Lincoln last week, centered around Hicklebee’s, which briefly saw the presence of a menacing bulldozer that (in the movie) threatened to take out our favorite bookstore! We just learned from Hicklebee’s Facebook page (go like ’em!) that an independent film company called Engine 15 Media Group used their store as part of a feature length family film called “Trooper and the Legend of the Golden Key.”
Here’s a description from their web site:
Trooper the Bloodhound is a slow talking, slow walking, natural-born sleuth, devoted to his “human”, 10 year-old Tommy. Trooper, Tommy and their family have just moved to a new town, but they soon discover it’s a small town with a mysterious legend., a legend of a Golden Key that could be worth one million dollars! While Tommy delivers newspapers, Trooper sniffs out clues, helped by his new doggie pal, Dash…the mischievous and ever energetic Basenji. With each new discovery the mystery deepens, and now danger is headed their way! Will Tommy and Trooper be able to unlock the Legend of the Golden Key before it’s too late? Will Trooper be able to save Tommy? One thing’s for sure…With Trooper the Bloodhound on the case, things are bound to get interesting.
According to the producer it will be released first to international audiences late this summer, and then come back to the United States where it will find its way to DVD rental and purchase sites, and maybe on TV. Hicklebee’s promises to keep their fans posted, and we’ll do the same!
