School’s out for summer, and many parents are scrambling for ways to keep the kids occupied and entertained. Many folks don’t know that the senior center on Lincoln Avenue is now a full-fledged “community and senior center”, but they’ve got a full set of camps and classes lined up for the summer.
Looks like most of their programs are geared towards elementary school-age children, but there’s plenty of variety with classes for several kinds of arts and crafts and musical instruments. Soccer seems to be the only sport represented in the schedule, but there are some fun-sounding non-traditional camps: one Lego-based “pre-engineering” camp, and another that teaches kids stop motion animation! The city also runs “Boredom Buster” camps out of the Kirk Community Center just down Curtner.
