Learn about San Jose’s development blueprint, “Envision 2040” general plan, current and long-term implementation strategies and how Willow Glen residents and businesses can contribute to make our community richer and more vibrant in the years ahead.

About Ms. Prevetti

Laurel Prevetti’s department handles land use planning and development for San Jose, the nation’s 10th largest city. During her career with San Jose, Laurel has managed the preparation of community-based plans to achieve a variety of goals including the revitalization of neighborhoods and development of vibrant, mixed use places. She has also written ordinances and policies to promote sustainable development, environmental protection, and other community objectives.

Laurel recently led the comprehensive update of the City’s General Plan, the award winning Envision San Jose 2040. This Plan will build the city of the future, with economic innovation, environmental leadership, social equity, vibrant arts and culture, strong education institutions, and connected neighborhoods.

Laurel also teaches in the graduate Planning program at San Jose State University. She obtained her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.
