City Deploys Traffic Monitoring Sensors All Over Willow Glen in Advance of Road Diet Pilot

Have you noticed the 40+ traffic sensors that got installed around Willow Glen today? A bunch of “strips” in the street count traffic and measure speed, and these pole apparatus measure turning movements of cars at 8 locations around Willow Glen. It’s all about getting ready for the upcoming test of a “road diet” that will see Lincoln Avenue reconfigured from 4 lanes to 3 (one each way with a turn lane down the middle) between Minnesota and Coe for six weeks sometime in the spring, i.e. March, April or May.

Learn more at http://willowglen.org/road-diet and email lincolnroaddiet@gmail.com with questions, concerns and suggestions.
There will be a public meeting about the test next Thursday February 2 at 6:30 in the Willow Glen Elementary School cafeteria.
