There's nothing more charming than when people step up and take action to help their fellow man. Like Sean Stanton who we just learned about from Councilmember Pierluigi Oliverio, who has taken it upon himself to collect 1,000 coats for San Jose's homeless, to help make the cold winter a little more bearable.

He's already collected 600 and needs 400 more by October 1 to meet his goal. To donate a coat, help spread the word or just let him know how much you appreciate what he's doing, email sstanton@acnibo.com or like (and share) the project's Facebook page: One Coat Wonder Project

I have created a project called, “One Coat Wonder”. I am committed to gathering 1,000 (one thousand) warm Jackets for men, women and children by October 1, 2013. I realized that even just one coat would make a wonderful difference to a person in need this winter season, hence the "One Coat Wonder" ...

As part of the growing anticipation for the Founders' Day Parade on September 21, the North Willow Glen Neighborhood Association is publishing a fun 15-part series of articles about the history of our area. Here's part one, which describes how the Bird family made Willow Glen a hotbed of hop growing in the 1870s. (mmmmm, beer!) "Like" the NWGNA's Facebook page to follow along, and we'll periodically share the pieces too because they are just that cool!
